Moldova’s agrarians are preparing a long strike: among their demands are restrictions on Ukrainian grain
Moldovan farmers intend to organize a protest from June 7 to June 30 in Chisinau. This was reported by the Forța Fermierilor association, which sent a request to the mayor’s office, Libere Moldova reports.
About 1000 people and about 300 units of agricultural machinery are planning to take part in the action.
Farmers are dissatisfied with the Moldovan government’s attitude to the agricultural sector.
Earlier, Forța Fermierilor appealed to the government to take measures to help farmers by June 3. The farmers demand a ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine, and the port of Giurgiulesti should be obliged to export only Moldovan agricultural products. Otherwise, farmers have declared their readiness to organize mass protests across the country.
Moldovan farmers are also demanding an increase in compensation for land tax and VAT
