Moldova plans to temporarily restrict imports of grain and vegetable oil from Ukraine
Moldova plans to restrict imports of agricultural products from Ukraine. We are talking about grains and vegetable oil.
This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture of Moldova Vladimir Bola, NewsMaker reports.
In a conversation with the head of the EU delegation to Moldova, Janis Mazejks, the Minister announced his intention to introduce “measures that some EU countries have introduced to import grain and oilseeds from Ukraine.”
According to Bol, the Moldovan government also wants to compensate farmers for the excise tax on diesel fuel they use and introduce subsidies for the purchase of plant protection products and fertilizers.
On May 2, the European Commission banned imports of four Ukrainian agricultural products to Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia. These are wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds.
At the same time, Ukrainian products will transit through these countries to other EU member states.
