The decision of several European countries to ban imports of Ukrainian grain plays into the hands of Russian propaganda and is not rational.

This was stated by Finnish Minister of Agriculture Antti Kurvinen.

“Finland understands the problem with the agricultural markets of Ukraine’s neighboring countries, but we are really afraid of the consequences of such unilateral restrictions,” he emphasized.

According to him, such restrictions could harm the unity of the European Union in supporting Ukraine.

“It is not very rational to support Ukraine with one hand and block its exports and economic opportunities with the other. There must be other ways. I am afraid that this strengthens the Russian narrative of war. Therefore, in our opinion, we need to look for other solutions to the problem in the markets,” Kurvinen emphasized.

He also added that it is necessary to establish grain exports from Ukraine through solidarity corridors to make it easier to transport agricultural products to European seaports.
