Latvian President Calls for Restrictions on Russian Grain Imports to the EU

Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs supported the proposal of Agriculture Minister Armand Krause to discuss at the European Union level the issue of restricting Russian grain imports to the bloc. This is reported by Delfi.

It is noted that the President of Latvia supported the proposal to discuss the issue of restricting imports of Russian grain to the EU.

At the same time, he proposes to maintain transit to third countries so as not to limit food supplies to the countries of the Global South.

As a reminder, Latvia has seen a sharp increase in grain imports from Russia this year. Imports of corn have increased especially.
