Aidarbek Saparov said that an additional 400 billion tenge had been allocated for spring field harvesting.

Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov explained why Russian wheat is cheaper on the market than Kazakh wheat at a briefing in the Majilis.

Kazakhstan retains its traditional markets, but it is difficult to compete, he said. That’s why additional money has been allocated for field work.

“Russian wheat is going cheaper compared to our wheat. Because our production costs are high and yields are low. Therefore, on the instructions of the head of state, we have allocated an additional 400 billion tenge for spring field harvesting work. 180 billion tenge was allocated annually, i.e. a total of 580 billion tenge. What do we allocate for? For them to observe the full range of agro-technologies”, – answered Saparov.
