Kazakhstan. September wheat exports: fewer destinations, higher volumes
Almost 517 KMT of Kazakh wheat was exported in September (+68% from August, +67% from September 2019/20, and +66% from the five-year average), UkrAgroConsult reports.
The beginning of the new export season features a smaller number of destinations and higher volumes.
Uzbekistan continues to be the main importer of Kazakh wheat: its export share in September 2020 grew to 65% with shipments up 141% from September 2019.
Apart from Uzbekistan, the following countries stepped up imports: Tajikistan (+19%) on the year, Afghanistan (+217%) on the year.
Other importing countries reduced purchases compared to September 2019: China (-26%) and Turkmenistan (-54%), Turkey (-97%).
