Kazakhstan plans to introduce a ban on wheat imports by all means of transportation
The document provides for a 6-month ban on the import of wheat to Kazakhstan from third countries and the EAEU by road, water and rail transport, reports inbusiness.kz.
However, it is allowed to import wheat by rail to poultry and flour milling enterprises exclusively for production and consumption. It is not subject to realization on domestic and foreign markets.
Also, the ban will not apply to wheat imported into the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of rail transit transportation, beginning and ending outside the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The ban is introduced to eliminate the threat of “gray schemes” of wheat imports into Kazakhstan and its re-export from the border regions of russia.
The project is posted on the portal “Open NPAs” until 26.03.2024.
