Kazakhstan plans to export about 7 million tons of wheat
In Kazakhstan, this year it is planned to harvest a good harvest of wheat, at the level of 13.5 million tons. It is planned to send about 7 million tons of wheat for export. This was reported by ElDala.kz with reference to the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Karashukeev.
“We have 7-8 million tons of surplus wheat. We supply this wheat to the foreign market. Our average annual export, if taken over the past 5 years, is about 6.9 million tons of grain or flour in grain equivalent. Therefore, this year is traditional for us. We have a good harvest, so we will withstand that average annual volume and save all our markets,” Karashukeev said during a briefing at the CCS.
According to him, domestic consumption in Kazakhstan is about 6.5-7 million tons of grain per year.
“We are planning a wheat harvest this year at the level of 13.5 million tons, this is in its pure form after processing, before drying. Considering that we have carryovers of about 1.5 million tons. It turns out that we have 15 million tons of wheat at the moment,” Karashukeev said.
