Kazakhstan. Flour exports falling for a second consecutive month
92 KMT was exported in May (-23% from April and -25% from May 2019/20). Almost 1.3 MMT had been exported since the beginning of the season (+20% y-o-y, -17% from the five-year average), UkrAgroConsult reports.
In May, Afghanistan’s share in Kazakhstani flour exports dropped to 72%, but it nevertheless remained the top importer.
The following countries increased purchases in September-May: Afghanistan (+35% y-o-y), Uzbekistan (+14%), China (+1.4%).
Other buyers reduced flour imports from Kazakhstan compared to last season: Tajikistan (down 50%), Turkmenistan (down 36%).
