Kazakhstan flour exports decreased by 27% compared to 2018/19 season
Kazakhstan exported 114 KMT of flour in February, or 21% more than the month before and up 5% from February 2019. In total, 802 KMT had been shipped abroad since the beginning of the season, or 27% less than in MY 2018/19, UkrAgroConsult reports.
This season, Kazakh flour exports go to just nine countries, but 99.7% of the shipments are absorbed by the five traditional buyers: Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and China.
Tajikistan was the only country among the major importers to increase purchases – up 88% from MY 2018/19.
Most of the other buyers reduced imports: Afghanistan – down 33%, Uzbekistan – down 24%, Turkmenistan – down 29%, China – down 70%.
