January USDA grains report brought no surprises
Ukraine. The barley export estimate was increased by 200 KMT due to high demand from China. Other figures left unchanged.
Russia. The wheat crop estimate was raised by 1.3 MMT, to 85.3 MMT. On the contrary, the export estimate was cut by 1 MMT, to 39 MMT, because of the imposition of export restrictions (a tariff quota).
The forecasts for corn and barley production and exports did not change.
Kazakhstan. The wheat export estimate was increased by 100 KMT. Other figures left unchanged.
Thus, the Black Sea grain crop rose by 0.7%, currently equaling 200.125 MMT, while export potential decreased by 0.7%, to 101.56 MMT, UkrAgroConsult reports.
