Iran is the main buyer of Russian corn, with 42% export share
Russian corn exports during the entire season totaled 4.26 MMT (up 57% from MY 2018/19, but down 3% from the five-year average). 161 KMT of corn was exported in August, or 36% less than in July and 64% more than in August 2018/19.

Except for an insignificant cargo shipped to Austria, the EU purchased no Russian corn in August. As a result, Georgia squeezed the European Union from the top five list of importers of Russian corn. Exports to EU countries fell by 11% from last season.
Apart from the EU, Japan also reduced demand for the commodity (down 21%).
The majority of other importers increased purchases, especially the following ones: South Korea: eightfold, Turkey: threefold, China and Georgia: doubled.
