International grain traders return to Ukrainian deepwater ports
Trading and logistics company Qortia AG has loaded the first vessel of 2024 from Ukraine’s Pivdennyi deepwater port.
It was the Bereket M (Panama flag), which carried 21.5 thousand tons of high-quality Ukrainian corn to Turkey, the company said in a statement.
“Bereket M became the first ‘koster’ of this year, which our team fully loaded on its own in a deep-water Ukrainian port. Since the establishment of Qortia AG, we have been actively shipping in Ukraine for six years through the “deep water”. But after the Russian invasion, we focused mainly on the development of river transportation and transshipment in the ports of the Danube cluster, where the company’s share reached 15% of the market.
From now on, we can say that Qortia AG has returned to “deep water,” the company commented.
For reference: Qortia AG is a Swiss trading and logistics company established in 2018. The company specializes in international trade, in particular in the wholesale export of oilseeds, processed foods and grains such as corn, soybeans, barley, wheat, etc. In addition to grain trading, Qortia AG provides freight forwarding services and ensures efficient cargo logistics management. Its clients include small and medium-sized Ukrainian and European farmers, as well as well-known global food corporations.
