Indonesia reduced palm oil exports in February
Indonesia shipped about 1.59 million tons of palm oil to foreign markets in February, analysts at Hamburg-based OilWorld (Germany) said. According to experts’ estimates, shipments fell by about a third to the level of January (2.31 million tons) and February 2023 (2.39 million tons).
For example, exports of Indonesian crude palm oil in the month under review amounted to only 153,000 tons (347,000 tons in January; 137,000 tons in February 2023), and refined oil – 1.35 million tons (1.83 million tons; 2.04 million tons).
Sales of palm kernel meal also sagged in the period under review, to 253,000 tons (423,000 tons; 420,000 tons). In contrast, palm kernel oil shipments rose to 159,000 tons (143,000 tons; 102,000 tons).
