If Russia pulls out of grain deal, it would cause it ‘huge diplomatic losses’ – Sullivan
The United States is considering all scenarios, including the possibility of Russia’s withdrawal from the “grain agreement”. Such a move would cost Russia “huge diplomatic losses”.
This was stated in the program Face the Nation of the CBS News TV channel Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor to the President of the United States.
“It’s possible Russia will withdraw from the (“grain agreement”. – Ed.), it’s possible they will continue. If they do withdraw from that agreement, the rest of the world will look at that and say Russia has turned its back on providing food at affordable prices to countries in the Global South, Africa, South America. And I think that will then lead to huge diplomatic costs for Russia,” he said.
He summarized that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will have to make a choice. The US is preparing for all scenarios and is working closely with Ukraine on this issue.
We shall remind you that on the morning of July 16, the last ship with Ukrainian grain under the grain agreement left the port of Odesa.
