Extremely hot summer with droughts, floods and typhoons, jeopardizes the harvest in China. This is reported by Bloomberg agency.

In June, temperatures in the country kept above normal, in July the heat only intensified. Disasters are hitting different parts of China, which could fuel food inflation by destroying part of the wheat, soybean, rice and corn crops. For example, large rice fields in the south of the country have been flooded, while in the north, drought has affected wheat crops and delayed the planting of corn and soybeans.

China should expect more extreme weather events in the future amid climate change, a local climate center has warned. The China Meteorological Administration has launched a new round of agricultural land zoning for the first time in 40 years to help the sector adapt to harsh conditions.
