Harvest 2022: only corn remains to winter in Ukrainian fields

As of December 22, 2022, grain and pulses crops were harvested on an area of 10.1 million hectares (90%) with a yield of 4.64 t/ha, 46.6 million tons of grain were threshed, including:

• 4.7 million hectares of wheat were threshed (100%), with a yield of 4.12 t/ha, 19.4 million tons were threshed;
• 1.6 million hectares (100%) of barley were threshed, with a yield of 3.51 tons/ha, 5.6 million tons were threshed;
• peas were threshed on 111.5 thousand hectares (100%), with a yield of 2.34 tons/ha, 261 thousand tons were threshed;
• corn for grain was threshed on 3.1 million hectares (75%), with a yield of 6.42 t/ha, 20.2 million tons were threshed;
• 115 thousand ha (98%) of buckwheat were threshed, with a yield of 1.37 t/ha, 157.4 thousand tons were threshed;
• millet was threshed on 43.5 thousand hectares (99%), with a yield of 2.29 tons/ha, 99.7 thousand tons were threshed.

The agrarian of Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions threshed the most wheat – more than 1.6 million tons, Poltava region is the leader in corn harvesting, where 2.8 million tons were threshed. Buckwheat is the most in Zhytomyr Oblast – 29.6 thousand tons.

• Sunflower harvesting was carried out on an area of 4.6 million hectares, (99%) threshed 10.1 million tons of seeds with a yield of 2.18 tons/ha;
• soybeans were planted on an area of 1.5 million hectares, (99%) threshed 3.7 million tons with a yield of 2.42 t/ha;
• rapeseed cultivation was carried out on an area of 1.1 million hectares, (100%) threshed 3.2 million tons of seeds with a yield of 2.89 c/ha;
• sugar beets were dug up on an area of 179.7 thousand ha, (100%) 9 million tons of sweet roots were dug up with a yield of 50.1 t/ha.

The agrarian farms of Mykolaiv Oblast, Odesa and Bukovyna have finished harvesting this year’s crop of all agricultural crops, Volyn, Transcarpathia, and Ivano-Frankivsk are close to completion.

Agricultural producers of Vinnytsia threshed 3.9 million tons of grain.

The highest yield of grain and pulses crops among the farmers of Khmelnytskyi region is 7.02 t/ha.
