Grain prices continue to fall. Tuesday August 16, 2022
September corn futures are now down 15¢ and have fallen about 6¢ lower than yesterday’s low. September soybean futures are down 41¢, about 13¢ lower than yesterday’s low.
CBOT wheat is down 9¢. KC wheat is down 6¢. Minneapolis wheat is down 10¢.
At this hour livestock prices are mixed. Live cattle is up $1.68. Feeder cattle is up $2.43. Lean hogs are down $.180.
Crude oil is down $2.65.
The Dow is up 200 points. S&P 500 is up 6.50.
In the overnight market corn prices improved after yesterday’s crash. This morning prices are back down. September corn futures are down 6¢. Soybeans fell overnight below yesterday’s high. They are currently down 21¢, and are below yesterday’s low.
Wheat prices are also down. CBOT is down 10¢. KC wheat is down 6¢. Minneapolis wheat is down 8¢.
Livestock are all up this morning.
Crude oil is currently down a penny.
The past couple of days have brought much needed rain to parts of the corn belt. Naomi Blohm with Total Farm Marketing says rains are forecast next week in Southern Plains, which will be beneficial for pasture and field conditions thinking ahead for winter wheat planting.
