Ukraine will help a number of African countries address food security issues as part of the Grain from Ukraine program.

This is stated in a post on Facebook by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine following the visits of Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

In particular, during a meeting with Malawian President Lazarous Chakwera, he said that Ukraine had decided to help Malawi under the Grain from Ukraine program.

“We also discussed the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, digitalization and other areas,” the Foreign Minister said.

During his meeting with President Hakainde Hichilema, Dmytro Kuleba also announced Ukraine’s decision to provide humanitarian aid to Zambia under the Grain from Ukraine program to overcome the consequences of this year’s devastating drought.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that a new batch of grain under the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program has arrived in Mauritania.

“Ukraine has supplied 538 tons of vegetable oil thanks to a generous contribution from Finland and with the support of the World Food Program. This shipment will provide vital nutrition for the country’s low-income population and will be distributed among refugees in the Mbera camp during general food distributions during the lean season,” the Ministry summarized.
