– Farmer unions in India have rejected the latest government proposal to amend controversial agricultural laws in the country, according to reports. Farmers have been protesting for weeks, launching a nationwide strike on Tuesday over concerns that laws passed by Prime Minister Narenda Modi’s government will only benefit large corporations while hurting the livelihoods of producers.

– The rollout of the first vaccinations for COVID-19 in the United Kingdom was met with some hiccups, with two people reporting a severe allergic reaction to the Pfizer vaccine. The people who reacted are recovering well, but British regulators are now advising anyone with a significant history of allergy to avoid the vaccine.

– Alberta has imposed new restrictions in an attempt to curb COVID-19 infection rates in the province. The restrictions include closures of casinos and gyms, along with dine-in service at bars and restaurants. A province-wide mask mandate, bans on social gatherings, and mandatory work-from-home measures were also implemented.
