Georgia and the EU stepped up purchases of Russian corn in January

388 KMT of corn was delivered by Russian companies to the foreign markets in January (-1% from December, +10% from January 2019/20). This season’s corn exports totaled 1.34 MMT or 18% lower y-o-y), UkrAgroConsult reports.

January witnessed skyrocketing shipments to Georgia (up 11 times from December) and the EU (+54% from December). Libya has imported no Russian corn since three months ago.

Most importers reduced purchases from the same time last year: Iran, Turkey, Japan, Libya and South Korea.

The exceptions are as follows: China (a seven-fold increase), Georgia (up almost threefold from a year earlier), the EU (+10% y-o-y), Armenia (6% y-o-y).
