Forecast for the EU oilseed crop is not without optimism
The European grain traders association COCERAL for the first time published its forecast for the 2020 oilseed crop in the EU-27, UkrAgroConsult reports.
The total crop is expected to rise to 29.8 MMT (+1.5% from 2019) due to an oilseed acreage expansion to 10.9 Ml ha (+0.8%) along with a yield increase to 2.71 MT/ha (+0.7%).
The total rapeseed crop will climb to 15.8 MMT (15.0 MMT last year) and that of soybeans will reach 3 MMT (2.8 MMT). The sunflower seed crop will decrease to 9.6 MMT (9.8 MMT).
