FAO announces extension of the call for farmers applying for agricultural demining

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has announced an extension of the call for farmers in Kharkivska oblast to estimate their needs for urgent demining and land rehabilitation. The call is extended until 30 June 2023, and it is open for State Agrarian Registry users only.

Under the terms of this call, farmers must have agricultural lands of up to 300 ha that have been affected as a result of military activities that started in February 2022. All applicants have to be registered in the SAR system and follow the link received as a message in their personal profile in the SAR system or via email.

 Within this call, farmers have to fill in a form providing an estimation of the number of hectares affected by mines and explosive remnants of the war, and provide the GPS boundaries of those land plots.

 Note that this call is provided for assessment purposes, and participation does not guarantee any particular kind of support.

The programme for demining and rehabilitation of agricultural lands is implemented jointly by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP) in coordination with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. The programme implementation has started in Kharkivska oblast and will be further expanded to other oblasts.

The closing date for submitting requests is 30 June 2023.
