Exports of Ukrainian barley increased by 60%

The export volume of grains and pulses from Ukraine in 2023/24 MY as of August 23 amounted to 3.83 mln tonnes, up 15% compared to the same period last season. This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service, published by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Thus, since the beginning of the season, 1.6 mln tons of wheat have been shipped, which is 78% more than last year.

Barley supplies to foreign markets amounted to 440 thousand tons, up 62% year-on-year. Rye was exported in the amount of 0.6 thsd tonnes (+50%).

Ukraine exported 1.8 mln tons of corn, which is 17% less than the same date last season.

Ukraine exported 18.7 thsd tonnes of flour, which is 2 times higher than last year (9.6 thsd tonnes).

For reference: in 2022/23 MY, Ukraine exported 49 mln tonnes of grains and pulses: wheat – 16.8 mln tonnes, barley – 2.7 mln tonnes, rye – 18 thsd tonnes, corn – 29.1 mln tonnes, flour – 153.6 thsd tonnes.
