President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects the European Union to lift restrictions on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products on September 15. The head of state said this during a press conference following talks with President of Poland Andrzej Duda and President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda in Kyiv, the website of the President’s Office reports.

“This is an important moment for us. Especially when Russia is blocking our grain initiative, we must have the opportunity to at least transit. Transit is also complicated today. But still, this issue goes beyond the bilateral relations between Ukraine and Poland – this issue has already been raised at the level of the European Union,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

“We will see how everything will be unblocked. But the dear Ms. Ursula von der Leyen promised me personally that there can be no further blockade after the 15th. Let’s believe in it,” the Head of State noted.

The President of Poland, for his part, noted that there were certain solutions to ensure freer trade, but there were still issues that needed to be streamlined, which would take time. Andrzej Duda hopes that once the relevant mechanisms are worked out, the bans will be lifted as soon as possible.
