EU reduced purchases of soybeans this season, but increased imports of rapeseed
Imports of soybeans by the European Union in the season-2022/23, which started in July, reached 12.52 mln tonnes by June 11, compared to 14.17 mln tonnes a year earlier on the same date, according to the data published by the European Commission.
Imports of rapeseed in 2022/23 MY reached 7.24 mln tonnes, up from 5.26 mln tonnes a year earlier.
Imports of soybean meal during the same period amounted to 15.38 mln tonnes against 16.06 mln tonnes in the previous season, while palm oil imports totaled 3.86 mln tonnes against 4.83 mln tonnes a year earlier.
