EU imported 31.5 million tons of grain this season
From the beginning of the current season (July 1, 2023) to June 11, the EU countries imported 31.5 mln tonnes of grain, which is 19% less than in the same period last season. Imports of corn decreased the most significantly compared to the previous season.

Like last season, the EU imports milling wheat, barley and corn mainly from Ukraine. In the current season, Ukraine supplied 6.4 mln tons of soft wheat, or 71% of the total imports of this crop, 12.0 mln tons of corn (68%) and 0.8 mln tons (44%) of barley. The largest supplier of durum wheat is Turkey – 0.7 million tons or (30%).
Russia is among the main suppliers of wheat, barley, rye and sorghum to the European Union. From the beginning of the current season to June 10, Russia imported 441.7 thsd tonnes of durum wheat, 340.8 thsd tonnes of soft wheat, 312.1 thsd tonnes of corn, 182.9 thsd tonnes of rye, 59.1 thsd tonnes of sorghum. For soft wheat, it will be 95 euros per ton, for rye and barley 93 euros, and for durum 148 euros.
