EU buying more Ukrainian corn than China for the second month in a row

June Ukrainian corn exports totaled 1.7 MMT (-24% from May and +10% from June 2019/20). 22.45 KMT has been exported this season (-21% y-o-y), UkrAgroConsult reports.

For the second consecutive month, the EU has been purchasing more Ukrainian corn than China has (619 KMT vs. 463 KMT, respectively), but the gap is nevertheless still too wide.

The EU, a traditional buyer last season, reduced imports from the same period a year ago (by 33%), and the following countries did the same: Egypt (-30% y-o-y), Iran (-2%), Turkey (-68%), Israel (-46%), Algeria (-52%), Tunisia (-18%).

The following importers stepped up purchases from last season: China (+66%), and the United Kingdom (+23%).
