Erdogan to talk to Putin about extending grain deal
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan intends to discuss the extension of the “grain deal” with Russian President-dictator Vladimir Putin. We are talking about several rounds of negotiations. The Turkish leader said this on his return from a tour of the Persian Gulf countries, Anadolu Agency reports.
Erdogan emphasizes that Ankara continues to have contacts with Moscow. In particular, at the level of the foreign ministries. According to the Turkish president, he intends to discuss the “grain deal” with Putin both by phone and during his visit to Turkey.
The Turkish leader expressed his belief that talks with the Kremlin leader will help ensure the continuation of the grain deal. After all, according to Erdogan, the continuation of this agreement will be for the benefit of humanity.
“He (Putin – Ed.) also has certain expectations from Western countries, and they, for their part, must take appropriate measures,” Erdogan said.
For its part, the Turkish side will make every effort, including diplomatic ones, to restore the grain deal, the president added.
