Egypt will increase the demand for Ukrainian corn amid the reduction of acreage
In 2024, the acreage under corn in Egypt may decrease, and farmers will pay more attention to growing cotton seeds, Atria Brokers reports.
This may lead to an increase in demand for imported corn from Egyptian buyers, namely Ukrainian production, analysts say.
Ukraine exported 2.6 mln tonnes of corn to Egypt in October-April of 2023/24 MY, compared to less than 1 mln tonnes in the same period of the previous season.
As of May 29, Ukraine exported 26.2 mln tonnes of corn in the current season.
