Egypt to build $140mln bulk grain terminal at East Port Said
The terminal is forecast to handle from 1.5mln to 7.2mln tonnes of grains per year
Cairo – The Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), Yehia Zaki, and the Representative of Roots Commodities and Rosa Grains, Haytham Nouh, signed a contract for the establishment of a bulk grain terminal at East Port Said.
At an estimated investment cost of EGP 2.2 billion, the terminal is forecast to handle from 1.5 million to 7.2 million tonnes of grains per year at East Port Said, Zaki said in a statement on Monday.
The project, expected to create about 400 direct and indirect jobs, will be established over an area of 267,000 square metres (sqm) and at a length of 500 metres, he added.
