Egypt imports 2.1 million tons of wheat since July – GASC
Egypt has imported about 2.140 million tons of wheat during the current fiscal year, the state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply General Authority for Supply Commodities Commodities (GASC) told Amwal Al Ghad Magazine, on Monday.
In special remarks, the authority clarified that Egypt imported the aforementioned amount of wheat from different countries, including Russia with 1.550 million tons, Romania 420,000 tons, then France 120,000 tons, and finally Bulgaria 501,000 tons.
Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain initiative, which allowed safe transportation of grain and foodstuffs from Ukrainian ports, indicated an uncertain concern that it would end in good or negative results, said Minister of Supply Ali Moselhy.
