Egypt almost fulfilled its plan to purchase wheat from state reserves
According to the Ministry of Supply of Egypt, the country’s state reserves purchased 3.55 mln tons of locally produced wheat. At the same time, the total planned volume of wheat purchases in 2024 was set at 3.6 mln tonnes, and the purchases of grain will last until July 15, Reuters reports.
The current wheat stocks in Egypt are enough to meet the domestic demand for the next 6.6 months.
