Discussions on agriculture will be the most difficult during negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU, – Kuleba
Discussions on agriculture will be the most difficult during the negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, but this will not be an obstacle on the country’s path to membership.
This was stated in an interview with Forbes by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
The foreign minister commented on the current dispute between Ukraine and the EU over the export of Ukrainian agricultural products.
“Discussions on agriculture will be the most difficult during the negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU. The European Union’s agricultural policy is still causing a lot of complaints within the Union,” Kuleba said.
According to him, the EU’s agricultural policy can be changed both under the pressure of internal factors and under the influence of the prospect of Ukraine’s membership.
“But I do not see any risk that the topic of agriculture will become an obstacle on Ukraine’s path to EU membership. Solutions will be found,” the Minister stated.
