Croatia’s wheat sowings up 3.8% in 2023
The area sown with soft wheat (winter, spring seed and durum) in Croatia this year increased by 3.8% compared to 2022, to 164,000 hectares, the statistical office said on Friday.
The area put to maize (mercantile and seed) increased by 0.7% year-on-year to 270,000 hectares in 2023, the statistical office said in a report, quoting first estimates of areas sown with cereals and oilseeds by June 1.
Croatia has put to sunflower seed 53,000 hectares in 2023, up 3.9% year-on-year, while area sown with sugar beet fell 11.1% to 8,000 hectares.
