Corn occupies more than half of Ukrainian grain exports

The volume of exports of grain and leguminous crops from Ukraine in 2022/23 MY as of October 14 amounted to more than 10.5 million tons, which is 34% less than last season.

This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service, which are published by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Thus, 3.8 million tons of wheat have been shipped since the beginning of the season, which is 62% less than last year’s volume.

Barley deliveries to foreign markets amounted to 895 thousand tons (-77%).

Also, 4.7 thousand tons of rye were exported, which is 11 times less than last year’s 51.5 thousand tons.

Corn exported 5.76 million tons, which is 3.7 times higher than the volume of shipments on the same date last season (1.5 million tons). Thus, corn occupies 55% of grain exports.

Export of flour from Ukraine in 2022/23 MY amounted to 30 thousand tons, which is 23% behind the figure of the previous season.

For reference: in 2021/22 MY, exports of grain and leguminous crops amounted to 48.6 million tons: wheat – 18.7 million tons; barley – 5.8 million tons; rye – 161.5 thousand tons; corn – 23.5 million tons; flour – 70.9 thousand tons.
