Corn crops in the southeastern regions of Romania are suffering significant damage due to lack of moisture and heat.
There is a risk of a repeat of the 2007 crop failure, when the crop was harvested with a yield of 1.5 t/ha.
Analysts forecast the harvest at 8 mln tonnes with a probable decline if weather factors do not improve.
In 2023/24 season, Romanian farmers harvested 8.52 mln tonnes of corn.
