Cargill plans to build a new plant in Australia
Cargill intends to build a canola processing plant in Kwinana, Australia. The plant may cost the company about $600 mln.
“Cargill is currently exploring this opportunity, subject to obtaining all necessary approvals. We are also working closely with the state government to move this project forward,” said Cargill Australia managing director Zsolt Kocha.
The new plant is expected to focus on the sale of canola products (oil, meal) to the domestic and export markets, with deliveries planned for the biofuel sector as well.
Cargill is already a leading player in the oil and fats market, with assets in Europe, Asia, North and South America, and Eastern Australia.
