Canadian wheat exports in MY 2023/24 reached 19 million tons
According to Canadian Grain Commission estimates, as of June 16, Canada has exported 19 million tons of wheat since the beginning of MY 2023/24, which is 9% higher than in the corresponding period of the previous season.
At the same time, shipments of durum wheat in the current season significantly decreased compared to last year’s level – by 25% to 3.1 million tons. Exports of Canadian barley decreased even more significantly – by 29%, to 2.1 million tons.
In addition, this season the country reduced shipments of canola seeds by 21% to 5.8 million tons, while pea exports increased by 10% to 2 million tons.
Canada’s total exports of grains, legumes and oilseeds for the 46 weeks of the 2023/24 season are estimated at 38.6 million tons, down 8% from last season.
