Canada reduced canola exports in MY 2023/24
According to Canadian Grain Commission estimates, as of May 19, Canada has exported 17.1 million tons of wheat since the beginning of the 2023/24 MY, which is 7% higher than in the corresponding period of the previous season.
At the same time, shipments of durum wheat in the current season significantly decreased compared to last year’s level – by 33%, to 2.9 million tons. Exports of Canadian barley also decreased by 33% to 1.8 million tons.
In addition, this season the country reduced shipments of canola seeds by 26% to 5.1 million tons.
Canada’s total exports of grains, legumes and oilseeds for the 41 weeks of the season-2023/24 is estimated at 35 million tons, which is 10% less than last year.
