Cabinet of Ministers bans export of wheat and flour from Kyrgyzstan for half a year
The Cabinet of Minister has banned export of flour and wheat for half a year, Tazabek reported with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Ban will not apply to re-export, transit and humanitarian aid provided by the Cabinet.
The Association of Flour Enterprises told Tazabek on September 19 that Kazakh flour price hiked from 1,700 to 2,300 soms for a sack. 50% of the domestic flour market in Kyrgyzstan accounts for the flour imported from Kazakhstan.
Production of flour grew by 10.3% in January-August 2023 to 155,400 tons and declined by 24% in August 2023 compared to August 2022 to 17,200 tons.
