By the end of the year, Ukraine will export $20 billion worth of grain, – Solskyi
By the end of 2022, Ukraine should export $20 billion worth of grain. Currently, the remaining grain is estimated at 10 billion dollars.
The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Mykola Solsky, announced this at a briefing, reports LB.
“After the agreements were signed, we have $10 billion worth of grain left over. It really is. This is a huge amount,” he said.
According to his forecasts, it will be necessary to export another 20 billion dollars worth of grain by the end of this year. This money is necessary for a significant part of the country to function further.
“First of all, this is the agricultural sector. And not only farmers, but the entire village,” the minister noted.
Solsky warned that the only reason for a possible food shortage inside Ukraine could be a lack of money for the next sowing campaign.
“Therefore, the signed agreement should solve these problems,” the minister said.
He called the positive trend of grain price growth in recent days by 10%, which is related to exchange rate policy and the promised unblocking of ports.
