Brazil pork exports decline significantly in October

Brazilian shipments of pork meat – both processed and in natural products – decreased significantly in October, hitting the lowest volume in eight months, according to a recent market report from Cepea.

The reduction of sales to some countries in Asia, major destination of the national product, pressed down the total exports.

According to data from Secex, 92 thousand tons of pork meat were shipped in October, decreasing 17.3% and 5.3% compared to September/23 and October/22, respectively.

It is the smallest volume since February 2023. The daily average of exports was 4.4 thousand tons, 21% less than in September and down 10% relative to October 2022.

The revenue obtained in October was BRL 1 billion, 16.3% lower than in September and 18.2% below that registered in October 2022. In dollar,s the decreases were 18.2% and 15.3% in the monthly and annual comparisons, respectively, totalling USD 199 million.
