Brazil pig and pork meat prices remain high in June – Cepea
Prices of swine products in Brazil finished June in an upward trend, the second consecutive month of increases, according to a recent market report from Cepea. Firm demand in the domestic market, and good performance of Brazilian exports of in natura pork meat were cited as the cause of the positive performance.
Concerning the partial of June (15 producing days), 70.2 thousand tons of in natura pork meat were shipped, according to data from Secex. The daily average is at 4.7 thousand tons, upping 7.3% against May/24 and an increase of 1.2% in relation to that in June last year.
In Brazil, firm demand, especially in early June, and limited supply of ready-to-slaughter animals kept prices of both live pigs and pork meat at high levels.
