The government of Belarus has issued a decree banning the export of a number of grains and oilseeds from the country for a period of six months. The document is posted on the national legal Internet portal.

The restrictions will apply both to the export of products to the states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and to other countries.

It is noted that this measure applies to wheat, rye, barley, oats, corn, buckwheat, millet, triticale, rapeseed and sunflower seeds.

“The exception will be goods that are humanitarian aid, as well as goods in transit through Belarus or from a country that is not a member of the EAEU to a country that is a member of the union,” the materials say.

Minsk also intends to “submit for consideration by the Eurasian Economic Commission a proposal to introduce a temporary measure on the customs territory of the EAEU” similar to the one indicated.
