Bangladesh will refuse to buy wheat in the current MY
The state grain customer of Bangladesh has announced that it does not plan to hold any more tenders for the purchase of wheat in the current marketing year, which will end in June 2024.
According to the market information, Bangladesh purchased 100 thsd tonnes of milling wheat at the last two international tenders.
In particular, at the tender held on December 12, the country purchased 50 thsd tonnes of wheat, probably Russian wheat, from Cereal Crop Trading at the price of $317.56 per tonne CIF, and another 50 thsd tonnes at the tender held on December 19, from Agrocorp International at the price of $315.29 per tonne CIF.
The contracted grain is expected to be supplied from Russia, Argentina, Uruguay, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania or Germany. In both tenders, the grain is to be delivered 40 days after the contract is signed at the ports of Chattogram and Mongla.
