Australia’s wheat harvest will be higher than last year’s crop
RaboBank experts forecast wheat harvest in Australia for 2024/25 year higher than last year, reaching the level of 27.4 million tons (+5.7% year-on-year) due to the increase in planted area. This level of wheat production is almost in line with the average of the last 5 years, which will lead to an increased supply of wheat on the world market in the new season.
Australia is also expected to harvest 10 million tons of barley (-7.2% y/y) and 5 million tons of canola (-11.4%) this year. The projected canola harvest is roughly in line with the five-year average, while the barley harvest will be below average by 2 million tons.
