Australia. Viterra receivals nudge 4Mt, about 1.3Mt delivered in week

Viterra

VITERRA’S network received 1.3 million tonnes (Mt) of grain in the week to Sunday to bring the total delivered to its sites for the current harvest to almost 4Mt.

“All sites across our network have been busy, with some taking more than 10,000 or 20,000t a day for several days straight,” Viterra operations manager Michael Hill said.

Fine weather last week has allowed good progress to be made in the South Australian harvest, and deliveries are also flowing into Viterra’s two sites in western Victoria.

Viterra Central Region operations manager Jack Tansley said sites such as Eudunda, Gladstone, Port Giles, Roseworthy and Saddleworth have been among the busiest.

“Canola deliveries have hit full pace and growers are moving to faba beans as they reach the end of the lentil harvest,” Mr Tansley said.

“We are consistently outturning grain and transporting it down to our port terminals for export, with our Wallaroo site commencing its second new-season vessel.”

Viterra Eastern Region operations manager Jo Klitscher said Monarto South last week broke another record for its busiest day.

Viterra Western Region operations manager Nick Pratt said the region was in full swing.

“Most of the 1.4Mt into the Western Region has been harvested and delivered in a very short space of time,” Mr Pratt said.

“Growers have delivered large volumes into Tumby Bay, Cummins and Port Lincoln.

“Port Lincoln and Thevenard are also busy preparing for more vessel loading.”
