Australia: GrainCorp issues this harvest’s first update
Major eastern Australian bulk handler GrainCorp has today issued its first Harvest Update for 2023-24 to reveal an intake to today of 426,200 tonnes.
“Harvest is underway across central and southern Queensland, with most activity centred around Mt McLaren, Yamala, Meandarra and Goondiwindi,” GrainCorp said, adding that overall quality across all commodities has been excellent.
“In northern New South Wales, deliveries are coming into the Moree, Narrabri and Dubbo regions, with activity expected to build across most zones in the coming week.
“Further south in NSW, we are seeing our first deliveries of canola and barley into the network.
“In Victoria, sites have begun receiving the first samples in the north of the state. In these regions, many growers are actively windrowing their canola crops in preparation for harvest.”
By state, GrainCorp has outlined its split in intake to date, with 289,900t of new crop in the system in Qld, 136.200t in NSW, and 100t in Victoria.
