Last two vessels left in the “grain corridor” – JCC

The number of vessels in the grain corridor has been reduced to two after it was blocked from entering. Both bulk carriers are currently moored in the port of Odesa. This was reported by the Joint Coordination Center.

All other vessels have already left Ukrainian ports and passed the inspection to leave the corridor: the last one was the My Lama bulk carrier with 27 thousand tons of corn for Tunisia.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Ministry of Reconstruction reported that the JCC, due to the actions of the Russian side, has not issued a permit to join the Black Sea Grain Initiative to any new bulk carrier out of 29 that had applied since June 26. The UN also confirmed the information about the suspension of replenishment of the “corridor” since June 26.

In total, according to the JCC, 32.75 million tons of agricultural products have been exported from Ukraine since the beginning of August 2022, including 16.84 million tons of corn, 8.91 million tons of wheat, 1.86 million tons of sunflower meal, 1.65 million tons of sunflower oil, 1.27 million tons of barley, 0.99 million tons of rapeseed, and 0.80 million tons of soybeans.

It is specified that a total of 1,002 vessels left Ukrainian ports, including 6 in July, 38 in June, 33 in May, 64 in April, while the peak was recorded in September-October last year – 178 and 180 vessels, respectively. At the same time, since the beginning of May, the deepest Ukrainian port, Pivdennyi, has been excluded from the grain deal due to the position of the Russian side.
